Two police officers perish in car crash

Two policemen were killed in a collision last night on the Nis-Skopje road, near Bujanovac. The victims, Serat Ajdari from Presevo and Zoran Markovic from the village of Prevalac near Vranje, were heading from Presevo on their way to Bujanovac. According to the police, following an investigation, train services continued to run normally. It is thought that the accident was caused when the Audi 80 with Bar number plates that Ajdari was driving, and that was heading towards Vranje, for hitherto unknown reasons, swerved to the right on the flyover, smashing through the metal barrier, and on to the Nis-Skoplje railway line below. Bujanovac District Court Investigative Judge Iljaz Mustafa and Deputy Prosecutor Nasip Redzepi visited the scene.
