3 detained in connection with attack on PM, then released
Serb Republic (RS) public broadcaster RTRS received confirmation from the Zenica-Doboj Canton MUP that Almir Merdic, Elvedin Himzic and Mujo Dizdarevic from the town of Tesanj had been released. The Serbia-based media earlier marked Merdic as the organizer of the attack that targeted the Serbian prime minister.
He was also mentioned in connection to radical organizations in Bosnia, Srebrenica's wartime commander Naser Oric, and the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegovic.
Merdic last week spoke for the Patria agency to deny any involvement in the incident in Potocari.
He admitted he was located several meters from Vucic when the attack took place, but said that photographs published by the media showed he did not take part in the incident, "but was filming it with a camera the whole time."
