PODGORICA Nebojsa Medojevic has taken to the internet to describe the voters of the Milo Djukanovic-led European Montenegro coalition as "a sect". The sect-like qualities, the leader of the opposition Movement for Changes wrote on his Facebook profile, are evident in the fact that Djukanovic's supporters and voters "believe only his policy is right and good": Opposition leader slams Djukanovic's voters as "sect" "This Sect 165K obviously still believes that the system is good and that the policy of the Djukanovic brothers is the only possible, right, honest, fair and efficient." The "165K" was a reference to the number of votes that Djukanovic's DPS party and their coalition won in the October parliamentary elections - 165,000. Medojevic, whose party is a member of the opposition Democratic Front, also noted that "the economy will in the end have to give its appraisal and make its stance". The economy, he wrote, "neither knows nor accepts" the rules of the DPS, while politics "should be of service to the economy, to ensure its normal functioning". In developed democratic countries, Medojevic asserted, the economy is "much more visible and important than politics". "Unfortunately, in our country the Djukanovic brothers, their school friends, their best men, their smuggling and crime mates, are at the same time the political, cultural, and business elite. For the past 23 years they had a chance to create a system after their own ideas and plan a model of economic development. Obviously, a very large number of people like what they did to this country, its economy and institutions," Medojevic concluded in his post, reported by the local media in Podgorica.
