Albanian opposition leader Edvin Rama called on his supporters on Sunday to gather for "a new peaceful protest" on Friday. This would come a week after the clashes between protesters and police in Tirana which claimed three lives. Albanian opposition calls for new protest Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli, on the other hand, said that no one can overthrow the government through violence. Rama, who heads the Socialist Party of Albania, the strongest opposition party in the country, attended Sunday the funeral of one of the protesters killed on Friday. The protest was organized by Rama's party, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sali Berisha and early elections. There were over 150 injured in the protest, according to Associated Press.
