Montenegrin daily Dan states that National Security Agency Director Dusko Markovic is the main candidate to replace Milo Djukanovic as prime minister. According to Dan, Djukanovic will be leaving his position soon in order to take a job with a representative office at NATO, which is expected to happen at the end of the year. Daily speculates on Djukanovic successor The daily states, citing sources from within Djukanovic’s ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), that party Vice-President Zeljko Sturanovic will take over party leadership once Djukanovic has left. DPS officials have also agreed that Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic would also support Markovic as a candidate for the prime minister’s office, according to the daily. All other relevant chances in structure and various positions are expected to be discussed at the DPS’s next congress in November. The daily also speculates that once Djukanovic exits the political scene, so would his closest political ally Svetozar Marovic.

Daily speculates on Đukanović successor

The daily states, citing sources from within Đukanović’s ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), that party Vice-President Željko Šturanović will take over party leadership once Đukanović has left.

DPS officials have also agreed that Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović would also support Marković as a candidate for the prime minister’s office, according to the daily.
