Top state officials travel to RS

Top Serbian and Republika Srpska (RS) officials met in Banja Luka on Tuesday behind closed doors for the third session of the Council for Cooperation. The body was founded in accordance with the Special Parallel Relations Agreement between Serbia and the Bosnian Serb entity, RS. Top state officials travel to RS Serbian President Boris Tadic. RS President Rajko Kuzmanovic, Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik all attended the session of the council in charge of monitoring the implementation of the agreement. Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic, Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic, Education Minister Zarko Obradovic and Mining and Energy Minister Petar Skundric also represented Serbia at the session. Ahead of the meeting today, it was announced that it would focus on the cooperation to date in all areas and priorities for the coming period will also be outlined, the Serbian government announced. RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik assessed earlier that the meeting would center on infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a bridge on the Drina River near Fakovic, a project in which both governments have expressed interest. The talks will also touch on political issues related to the fact that Serbia is a guarantor of the Dayton Peace Accords, Dodik said. The Special Parallel Relations Agreement between Serbia and RS was signed September 26, 2006 in Banja Luka, and the Council for Cooperation has convened two times so far - September 2007 in Banja Luka and November 2008 in Belgrade.
