All members of the Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) municipal board in the town of Aleksinac have left the to join the Progressives (SNS).

Town's entire local LDP board joins Progressives

Nebojša Ćirić, who until now served as LDP manager in Aleksinac, told Tanjug that the board was "irritated" by the arrival of former Democratic Party (DS) members, who recently joined the LDP.

In addition, the board "recognized in the SNS and Aleksandar Vučić a policy standing for the same goals that they stood for while in the LDP."

Head of the SNS local board, Nenad Stanković, also spoke to reporters to say that the new members "recognized the force in the SNS and its leader that is changing Serbia for the better."

The five councilors who previously left the DS to join the LDP in Aleksinac said at the time they did so "because only Čedomir Jovanović was consistently continuing the policy of Zoran Đinđić."
