BELGRADE The cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia's Serb entity, the Serb Republic (RS) has "improved considerably over the past year." This is the conclusion of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and RS President Milorad Dodik, who meet in Belgrade on Thursday. Serbia, RS improve cooperation "considerably" “In the future, I believe we will realize a lot of tasks and goals together. I see a joint future of Serbia and RS,” Nikolic said at a joint news conference with Dodik after the session of the Council for cooperation between Serbia and RS. The two presidents underscored the importance of regional stability, and Dodik said that through its efforts in the field, Serbia contributed to stability within Bosnia-Herzegovina. Noting that a lot was done over the past year to intensify the relations, Nikolic said that special attention was attached to the goal of making Serbia and RS more attractive for foreign investors. Improvement of the relations in the region is the only way to ensure economic progress and better living standards for Serbian and RS citizens, Nikolic said. Dodik noted that Serbia and RS share understanding in terms of issues of mutual interest, which constitute the core of their joint activities. RS supports Serbia's state policy on the Dayton Treaty, Dodik said and added that Serbia's political activities in establishment of regional stability have obviously contributed to a large extent to stabilization of the situation both in the region and in Bosnia. A better future for Serbia and RS is based on strong regional cooperation, especially in the sectors of energy, judiciary, economy, transport, regional and international cooperation and culture, Nikolic said. Belgrade and Banja Luka are working to create conditions for joint presentation on third markets and joint production, and they agree that cooperation should be reinforced in the realisation of energy projects of Srednja Drina and South Stream pipeline, Nikolic said. Nikolic announced that Serbia and RS would adjust their activities and stands on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I. “We stand witness that certain individuals have of late tried to rewrite the history so as to present Serbs as the side responsible for the tragedy of World War I,” he said. “We will do all we can to prevent forgery of history and stigmatization of Serbs concerning the misfortune which befell the entire continent in the period from 1914 to 1918, when Serbs paid a terrible toll and when every fourth citizen of Serbia was killed,” Nikolic noted. The Council session was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and his RS counterpart Zeljka Cvijanovic, as well as presidential advisors. (Tanjug) Tanjug
