ULAN BATOR Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns in the capital of Mongolia, Ulan Bator, on Sunday. The U.S. official "commended Serbia's top officials for successful completion of the Brussels dialogue with Pristina." "U.S. praises Serbia for successful dialogue" During the meeting, Burns voiced the willingness of the U.S. to "further assist Serbia in its efforts aimed at putting the regional affairs in order, with the full support for our people in Kosovo and Metohija, so that Serbia could go along the path of growth without any hindrances, attain the position of importance and get the support which it had deserved long time ago," Mrkic said. The Serbian foreign minister said that his visit to Mongolia, where he is taking part in the international conference dedicated to democratization in the world, is an opportunity to inform foreign officials about the essence of the Belgrade-Pristina agreement, and make it clear to them that the agreement does not imply a recognition of Kosovo. The conference has brought together representatives of 108 countries, including around 50 ministers, with some delegations being headed by prime ministers or their deputies. (Beta, file) Tanjug
