Opposition leader doesn't want elections - because of Kosovo

BELGRADE Opposition Democratic Party (DS) leader Dragan Djilas has said that he would support the government in its efforts to resolve the Kosovo issue. Djilas also spoke against early parliamentary elections "before ending the painful process of implementation of what has been agreed in the dialogue with Pristina". In a statement for the Tanjug news agency on Thursday in Belgrade, he noted that the party recently voted in favor of a parliament resolution on Kosovo and Metohija, stressing the Democrats "will not score political points on Kosovo". Djilas, who also serves as Belgrade mayor, further believes that there should be no elections in Serbia "at least in the coming few months, until the ongoing process on Kosovo ends". “We request that the elections in Serbia are not held in the coming few months since the process of implementation of this agreement will be a very painful,” Djilas said.
