BELGRADE Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader Bojan Pajtic has stated that the party was looking at a reshuffle, adding that it is a “natural process”. He also stated that his plans did not include establishing his own party. Democratic Party in for reshuffle, official says "On the contrary, I will do everything in my power to preserve the unity of DS, whose member I have been since the time of Zoran Djindjic," Pajtic told daily Vecernje novosti. He also voiced belief that the DS would stay unified despite the current post-election frictions, since Serbia needed it as such. "Only unified and stable DS can contribute to the regeneration of our society and set its program goals as national ones. Every government needs a good correction factor, and without the DS there is no strong opposition," Pajtic said. The daily reported that Pajtic could not confirm Tuesday whether or when he will meet with DS leader Boris Tadic and his deputy Dragan Djilas. The media have been speculating on the "trilateral meeting" as an overture to a session of the DS Main Board scheduled for September 8. Pajtic also told dailies Blic and Press that he would do everything to prevent the DS from splitting up and that those responsible for the party's electoral defeat had to be dismissed. He said that the DS had to be profiled better in terms of its program and advanced in terms of personnel. “When it comes to personnel, the responsibility has to be taken by the people who are ready to perform public duties without abuse, carelessness, arrogance,” Pajtic pointed out. "Thorough reshuffle as a precondition for the party's successful work is to take place. It is very important that the situation in the DS stabilizes in the next few days and weeks. I know that both Boris Tadic and Dragan Djilas share my belief," he told Blic. Bojan Pajtic (FoNet, file) Blic Tanjug Vecernje novosti
