Tadić to spend Christmas in Kosovo

Serbian President Boris Tadic has sent a message to the Serbian Orthodox Church and all believers who celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar. “I wish you a merry Christmas and I wish you to spend it in good health and prosperity and in the spirit of tolerance, understanding and peace. May you celebrate the day of Christ's birth joyously with your families and friends! Peace from god, Christ is born!” the president said in the message. On Christmas Eve, January 6, Tadic will visit Visoki Decani monastery where he will attend a service on Christmas Day, January 7. The Serbian president spent Christmas in Decani last year as well. Tadić will spend Christmas in Kosovo, the president's office has confirmed.

On Christmas Eve, January 6, Tadić will visit Visoki Dečani monastery where he will attend a service on Christmas Day, January 7.

The Serbian president spent Christmas in Dečani last year as well.

Serbia's majority Orthodox Christians mark the holiday according to the Julian calendar.
