Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic stated Wednesday that a session on a draft declaration on Kosovo would most likely be held by week's end. When asked by the Serb Radical Party (SRS) members when the session is planned to be held, she said she could not determine the exact date of the session until she had received the document from the Serbian government. Session on Kosovo most likely this week, speaker says Djukic-Dejanovic underlined that the parliament Committee on Kosovo had requested from the Serbian government to deliver the draft declaration, adding that the session would be scheduled after the document entered the parliament procedure. SRS MP Zoran Krasic asked the parliament speaker when she was planning to schedule the session, taking into account that KFOR took over the barricade at the Jarinje administrative crossing last night. Like in the previous 15 days, SRS MPs are present at the parliament session whereas the rest of the opposition are not taking part in the work of the parliament, dissatisfied with the fact that the issue of Kosovo is not being discussed. Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic “MPs could discuss declaration on Saturday” On the other hand, Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-United Serbia (JS) whip Branko Ruzic has stated that he has information that the government has been working on the draft declaration for several days and that parliament will most likely discuss it on Saturday, November 12 if the government adopts it. In the meantime, the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) repeated that the party would not support the declaration on Kosovo if it did not contain a clear message to the northern Kosovo Serbs to remove the barricades and allow freedom of movement to the international forces and if Serbia did not verify the agreements that had been reached by Belgrade, Pristina and the EU. Commenting on the SPO statements, Ruzic said that he did not see how they could deny support to something they had not even seen yet and pointed out that it was a question for the SPO and the Democratic Party (DS). Ruzic added that the draft declaration should be read and that all political options in parliament and top state officials should be listened to first. “After that we will see whether the draft has support or not. I am convinced that the draft will have the support,” he pointed out.
