Opposition parties claim that if all of the ruling coalition cannot back the most important government act – the budget – there is no parliamentary majority. Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic said that the “Serbian citizens want elections, because they do not see legitimacy in the parliament and government.” Govt. no longer has majority, says opposition “This can be seen in the results of the local elections in Vozdovac, but where DS wins, there is a completely different relation, it becomes obvious that there is no ruling coalition mirrored on the local level. This is one reason, and another selfish reason is that SNS wants to be represented in the parliament and maybe in the Serbian government as well,” Nikolic said. New Serbia (NS) leader Velimir Ilic said that the government no longer has a stable majority. “A coalition does not exist for basic issues like next year’s budget and that is a sign that the government no longer exists,” Ilic said. “If the Serbian president had any morals, if he were a real president, he would ask for elections to be announced, because he sees that he has an inept government, which he is trying to save by being the prime minister and ministers, and by pushing some councils, but he cannot help them because his team is weak,” Ilic said.
