President of the Democratic Party’s (DS) city board Igor Pavlicic is the new mayor of Novi Sad, and his deputy is Sasa Igic from G17 Plus. After the city assembly’s constitutive session where the decisions were taken, Pavlicic announced that the priorities of his work would be “the city’s development, and taking Novi Sad, Vojvodina and Serbia into Europe, which our new city authorities will definitely succeed in doing.“ DS candidate elected Novi Sad mayor Novi Sad councilors also elected a new City Council, an assembly speaker—Aleksandar Jovanovic of the League of Vojvodina Social Democrats—as well as the directors of the public utilities companies. Pavlicic’s candidature was supported by 41 councilors, opposed by three, while 27 ballot papers were declared invalid. After his election, the new mayor said that his priorities would be work on the city’s economic development, strengthening the economy, and reducing unemployment. The Novi Sad assembly also elected new directors of the city's public companies, one of the most successful of which—the Public Enterprise for City Construction and Development—will be headed by former mayor, Borislav Novakovic, while only four directors under the old leadership will retain their posts. The assembly majority made up of the “For a European Serbia“ list and the Hungarian coalition, has divided up the various public enterprises, though two places have nonetheless been left to the Socialists, while the head of Informatika comes from the citizens’ group led by the outgoing mayor, Maja Gojkovic. Novi Sad councilors also elected a new City Council, an assembly speaker—Aleksandar Jovanović of the League of Vojvodina Social Democrats—as well as the directors of the public utilities companies.

Pavličić’s candidature was supported by 41 councilors, opposed by three, while 27 ballot papers were declared invalid.
