The decision concerns the 105 gram packages with an expiration date of January 2, 2008.

A statement from the company says that Mercator S and M-Rodić in Serbia received information from their headquarters in Ljubljana that the product in question was infected with the salmonella bacteria.

“Pending official results of analysis, the product will be withdrawn from our stores,” the statement says.

Production director at Jaffa, Jelena Jurić, told reporters Tuesday that the findings of sanitary and veterinary inspectors who controlled the factory did not indicate any irregularities.

Jurtić added the superanalysis results were expected in the next five days.
