Ministers sign pan-European pipeline declaration
Naumov was quoted as saying that the signing was “a new, strong impetus to the region’s European integrations.”Naumov told journalists the declaration would improve cooperation between the countries involved in the project.
The 1,319-kilometer pipeline is designed to bring Caspian oil supplies closer to the EU countries, at the same time easing up the burden of traffic in the Bosporus and the Dardanelles.
The pipeline, running though Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy is set to become operational between 2011 and 2013.
