Police operation nets credit card forgers

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has announced that Serbian police (MUP) have arrested a nine-member crime group engaged in forging credit cards. The police operation, codenamed Monza, was launched in cooperation with German, Bosnian and Croatian police forces, Police Director Milorad Veljovic explained in Belgrade on Friday. As they arrested Jovanovic, MUP officers found the equipment used to make the forgeries. Dacic said that the group stole "several million dinars" from individuals and companies. He specified that Jovanovic was the leader of this international criminal group, and that the arrests were made on Thursday evening and during last night. Dacic and Veljovic also stated that the arrests signal "the beginning of a showdown with this type of high tech crime", and that Operation Monza continues.
