8 November 2009 | 09:26 | Source: Beta
NOVI SAD -- Novi Sad police have arrested suspected drug dealer, 32 year-old Damjan I. from Sremska Kamenica, in the continuation of the so-called Morava action.

Police also seized 800 grams of heroin that were in the suspect’s possession.

According to a police statement, Damjan I. was arrested near the Novi Sad shipbuilding area with numerous bags of heroin on him.

Police also found a digital scale in his apartment and a large amount of foreign currency, which they believe the suspect earned through the sale of narcotics and weapons.

The suspect will be handed over to the investigative judge and will have charges filed against him, the statement from the Novi Sad police added.

Earlier in the month, police arrested over 500 persons suspected of drug-related criminal activity in a nationwide action combating organized crime in Serbia.
