The Serb Radical Party (SRS) says its leader Vojislav Seselj's life is at risk at the Hague Tribunal. Speaking in a news conference in Belgrade today, SRS Secretary General Aleksandar Vucic said "an attempt to liquidate" Seselj, undergoing trial charged with war crimes, is evident in an attempt on the part of the UN court to impose a defense attorney. Radicals cry Hague murder in leader's case "Obviously, the Hague Tribunal has no idea how to proceed and what to do with Seselj. The only thing they want to do is kill him," Vucic said. He added that prosecution is aware that Seselj will once again embark on a hunger strike, as was the case the last time the court tried to impose an attorney on him. Vucic said the Hague prosecution was carrying this out "in coordination with the inner factor in Serbia", in order to rid themselves of the Radicals. He also announced the party will call on the world public opinion and institutions not to allow a change of the rules that Seselj fought for with his hunger strike at the Hague last year. The SRS official repeated that the party leader sought only to have a just and fair trial, to the extent possible, where he will represent himself. Vucic added that 39 witnesses for the prosecution appeared so far during the process, which, according to him, Seselj "tore to pieces".
