The enterprise will decide on the contract within 25 days as from the opening of bids, and inform the bidders within three days as from the date of the decision, Tanjug quoted an announcement posted on Telekom's website.

In a tender four years ago Telekom's value was evaluated at EUR 2.2 billion, while the government at the time asked a minimum of EUR 1.4 billion for a 51 percent stake - which the only bidder, Telekom Austria, was not prepared to pay.

The state currently owns 58.11 percent of Telekom's shares, 20 percent are owned by the company itself, while citizens and current and former employees have 14.95 and 6.95 percent, respectively.
