The Serbian government passed Friday a directive on subsidized loans to agriculture, which will come into effect May 25. RSD 2.7bn will be set aside in the state budget for the purpose, Tanjug learned at the Serbian government. RSD 2.7bn for subsidized loans to agriculture The directive was passed at a phone session and covers loans in dinars, given for a period of up to three years, with an effective annual interest rate of eight percent. The loans are intended for livestock and plant production, purchase of mechanization and equipment, construction of agricultural facilities, as well as refinancing short-term agricultural loans from last year. Both small registered farmers and large agricultural companies will be able to apply for the loans, and the maximum amount for a single loan is RSD 5mn. The directive will come into effect May 25, and applications for subsidized loans can be filed until November 1, 2011.
