If you annexed it, you would incur enormous costs. You would have to manage the territory, deal with a population that would never recognize U.S. authority, and take on all the costs Denmark bears today,&rdquo; Jarlov said, noting that Denmark has invested around $14 billion in Greenland&rsquo;s defense over the past two years.Europe stands with DenmarkJarlov expressed confidence that Europe will remain united despite pressures from Washington, including threats of tariffs and possible security consequences.&ldquo;Everyone sees that this is unreasonable and makes no sense. We are very confident that we have the support of European allies, as well as other countries like Canada,&rdquo; he said.He concluded that Denmark is currently under the greatest pressure and facing its most serious threat since World War II, emphasizing that international support in this situation is crucial.
