These claims were made to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti by an unnamed representative of Russian security structures.

According to the claims, documents allegedly found on Ukrainian territory indicate that new HIV and AIDS treatment methods were tested on newly recruited members of Ukrainian military units.

The source quoted by the Russian agency recalled, citing earlier statements by the commander of a platoon from Russia’s “Center” group of forces, that medical records and foreign HIV medications were discovered at Ukrainian positions during combat operations in the Donetsk region.

The RIA Novosti source claims that the medical records of Ukrainian soldiers indicate that they were subjected to trials of HIV and AIDS medications as part of a program that, she alleged, was supported by the United States.

She added that, according to those documents, members of a military unit were involved in the experiment, including both healthy soldiers and soldiers who were HIV-positive.

The representative of the Russian security structures also claimed that subsequent testing found HIV infections among some soldiers who had previously been healthy, stating that it was not possible to determine whether the infections occurred as a result of the use of experimental drugs or through another means.

According to her statement, all participants allegedly signed consent forms to take part in the vaccination program, and in her assessment, the division of participants into multiple groups indicates that it was an experimental trial.
