'Super Hornet' took off: Americans opened fire again
The U.S. Central Command stated that its forces in the Gulf of Oman opened fire on an Iranian-flagged tanker and disabled it.
According to a post by the U.S. military on social media, the tanker M/T Hasna attempted to enter an Iranian port in violation of the U.S. blockade.
It is stated that U.S. forces, after repeated warnings, opened fire from the cannon of naval aircraft, disabling the vessel.
“After the crew of the Hasna failed to comply with repeated warnings, U.S. forces disabled the tanker’s rudder by firing multiple rounds from a 20 mm cannon from a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft, which had launched from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).”
“The Hasna is no longer sailing toward Iran. The U.S. blockade of ships attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports remains in effect,” CENTCOM stated.
