Specifically, Iranian outlet IRINN aired a map marking eight energy facilities in the Persian Gulf that, it said, would be targeted if the ceasefire is not upheld.

The published targets are located across four Gulf countries:

Saudi Arabia

  • Abqaiq: oil refinery
  • Safaniya: offshore oil field
  • Khurais: oil production

United Arab Emirates

  • Das Island: oil and liquefied natural gas
  • Zirku Island: offshore oil

Qatar

  • Ras Laffan: liquefied natural gas production
  • RasGas: liquefied natural gas production

Kuwait

  • Burgan: oil production

As reported by the Greek outlet pronews.gr, Abqaiq is the largest crude oil stabilization facility in the world, processing around seven percent of global oil supply before export.

“Even a simultaneous strike on just half of these facilities would trigger an energy shock unprecedented in modern times,” the outlet said.
