Grim warning issued in Iran: Security forces keep their finger on the trigger
Iran’s police chief Ahmad Reza Radan warned citizens not to take to the streets to protest for regime change, stating that anyone participating in such demonstrations would be treated as an enemy of the state.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier called on Iranians to rise up against the country’s leadership, as U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran continue.
“We will no longer consider anyone who takes to the streets at the request of the enemy to be a protester. We will consider them an enemy, not a protester, and we will treat them accordingly,” Radan said on state television, Reuters reported today.
He added that all Iranian “security forces have their finger on the trigger.”
U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on Iranians to overthrow the leadership in Tehran, but he has also urged them not to take to the streets while U.S.-Israeli attacks are ongoing.
