Terrible explosion; Part of an apartment building destroyed, casualties reported FOTO/VIDEO

The explosion occurred near the "Dimitrie Bolintineanu" middle school, shaking the entire Rahova neighborhood, collapsing building walls, and causing panic among residents, reports Antena Observator.

Additionally, the fifth and sixth floors of the building were completely destroyed.

A large number of firefighters, rescuers, and emergency services are on the scene, and traffic has been halted.

As shown in footage circulating on social media, parts of the building’s facade ended up on the sidewalk, prompting the evacuation of residents.

Rescue teams are searching the area to determine if anyone is trapped under the rubble.

The explosion did not cause a fire, but the damage is extensive.

Witnesses say the blast sounded "like a bomb," and the shockwave shook the windows of nearby buildings.

According to local media, at least ten children from the nearby school sought medical attention after being hit by glass shards. Parents took them home, and classes have been temporarily suspended.
