Sorry, Volodymyr, it's not possible…
U.S. President Donald Trump, regarding the possibility of supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, stated that they are needed by the U.S. as well.
Trump added that he will likely meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin within the next two weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, the U.S. president confirmed that, prior to that, the foreign ministers of the two countries, Mark Rubio and Sergey Lavrov, will arrange to meet shortly beforehand, Sky News reported.
Regarding the possibility of supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, Trump said that the U.S. needs them as well:
"Tomahawks are needed for the United States too. We have many, but we need them. We can’t be depleting our country… I don’t know what we can do about it," Trump said.
He also mentioned that on Friday, during a meeting at the White House, he will inform Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his conversation with Putin.
"We have a problem; the two of them don’t get along very well," Trump added, noting that this requires separate meetings.
He admitted that he had believed he would be able to handle the war in Ukraine more easily because of his relationship with President Putin.
