The Israeli armed forces launched a ground offensive aimed at capturing the city of Gaza, and as reported by foreign media, explosions resounded every 100 seconds.

According to Palestinian sources, at least 38 civilians have been killed so far. The bodies of 23 people were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, 12 to Al-Mamoud Hospital, and three to Al-Aqsa Hospital, the Wafa agency reported.

More than 40 wounded people were admitted for treatment, many of them in critical condition.

The attacks targeted residential areas, including areas northwest of Gaza City, al-Daraj and al-Sabra settlements, as well as the central part of the Gaza Strip, including the refugee camp in Deir al-Balah.

Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that eight people, including women and children, were killed, while around 40 people were injured in an attack on a settlement in the western part of Gaza.

Two children were killed and several others wounded when the Masood family home in the eastern neighborhood of al-Daraj was hit.

Four people were killed in Al-Sabra neighborhood, while Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed the death of three people in an attack on an apartment in the refugee camp.

In another attack, seven civilians were killed and more than 20 wounded when Israeli forces targeted a humanitarian aid distribution point south of Gaza.

Attacks continued on other locations in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

According to reports, several civilians are still under the rubble.

The United Nations Commission of Inquiry announced that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, the BBC reports.

The new report states that there are reasonable grounds to conclude that four of the five acts defined as genocide under international law have been committed since the start of the war with Hamas in 2023: killing members of the group, inflicting severe physical and mental suffering, intentionally creating conditions leading to the destruction of the group, and preventing births.

As evidence of genocidal intent, the report cites statements by Israeli leaders and patterns of behavior by Israeli forces.

Israel's Foreign Ministry categorically rejected the report, calling it "distorted and false."

The spokesman accused the three experts from the commission of acting as "middlemen of Hamas" and of "fully relying on the lies of Hamas, which were passed on and recycled by others", and which, he claims, "have already been thoroughly exposed".

"Contrary to the lies presented in the report, it is Hamas that attempted to commit genocide in Israel - killing 1,200 people, raping women, burning families alive and openly declaring that its goal is to kill every Jew," the spokesman added.
