A bullet in the neck; Trump's associate shot at the University of Utah in critical condition
Conservative activist and co-founder of the "Turning Points USA" organization Charlie Kirk, who was shot today at an outdoor event at the University of Utah in the US, is currently in critical condition, US media reported.
According to the Associated Press, Kirk was taken to the hospital after being shot in the neck.
He was addressing Utah Valley University students from an outdoor tent when he was shot. After the shot, Kirk clutched his neck with his hand, from which, according to eyewitnesses, he was bleeding profusely. The crowd started screaming and running away.
The university said the suspect was arrested.
"We all need to pray"
US President Donald Trump called for prayers for conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
"We all need to pray for Charlie Kirk, who was shot. Great guy, God bless him," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump previously, as the US media recalls, praised Kirk as key to his gains among young voters in last year's presidential election. Charlie Kirk is known to the American public for organizing frequent public debates at Universities under the name "Prove Me Wrong".
