Barrier to Israel from London
Israel's Ministry of Defense has announced it will not participate in the upcoming DSEI UK 2025 defense equipment show in London next month, after the British government decided to limit the participation of Israeli government and military representatives.
The Ministry of Defense claims that the "harmful and shameful" move was aimed directly at Israeli representatives and states that because of this, Israel will not be represented at the exhibition in the national pavilion, although, as stated, Israeli defense industries that choose to attend will still receive the full support of the ministry, The Times of Israel reported.
The ministry criticizes the British government's decision as a political step that, as it is stated, "serves extremists and gives legitimacy to terrorism."
The decision to limit the participation of the Israeli Ministry of Defense at the London fair was first reported by Politico on Thursday.
The portal quoted a British government spokesman as saying that Israel's plans to expand fighting in the Gaza Strip and capture Gaza City led to the decision.
Unnamed government officials told Politico that Israeli arms companies would be allowed to participate and that large protests could be expected.
