The roof of the school collapsed: There are dead, bodies are trapped under the ruins PHOTO/VIDEO
At least four children died and 17 were injured in the collapse of the roof of a school building in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, local media reported.
Authorities fear that dozens of people are still trapped under the rubble, Reuters reported.
According to footage from social media, locals gathered around the crash site as authorities used a crane to remove the debris.
The accident happened while students were attending classes at a government school in Jhalawar district.
"Directions have been given to the relevant authorities to ensure proper treatment for the injured children," Rajasthan official Bhajanlal Sharma said on social media.
A local police officer, Amit Kumar, said some of the injured children were in a critical condition, according to PTI and the Economic Times.
According to local media reports, rescuers are on the ground, Reuters reported.
