It is worth noting that after the magnitude 6.1 earthquake, nine more aftershocks were recorded in the area, with the smallest one measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale, and the largest measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale.

Meanwhile, the fire services of Crete are on general alert. Fire engines are already on patrol to control the situation.

According to information, minor landslides were recorded as a result of the earthquake on the provincial road network, and a minor fall of building parts was observed on August 25 Street in Heraklion. The services of both the Crete region and the municipality are in a state of heightened alertness.
