Three victims were taken to hospital by emergency services after police were called at 4.20 a.m. "following reports of multiple injuries at one incident", according to the Metropolitan Police.

Two other victims are also in hospital. Their injuries are still being assessed.

"Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and five people were found with stab wounds. They were taken to hospital where their injuries are being assessed. An investigation is ongoing and a cordon will remain in place throughout the day," a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

"We sent ambulance crews, ambulance paramedics, incident response officers, paramedics and the London Ambulance Helicopter. We treated three patients at the scene before taking them to hospital," he added.

So far, no one has been arrested.

"The investigation is ongoing," the police said in a statement.

The police called on all citizens who have useful information to come forward.
