It's clear: It's extermination

Israel carried out "genocidal acts" against Palestinians during the Gaza conflict, systematically destroying women's health facilities and using sexual violence as a war strategy, United Nations experts said in a new report.

Israel's permanent mission to the UN in Geneva assessed those accusations as unfounded, biased and without credibility.

The commission claims that certain actions of the Israeli authorities deliberately made it difficult or impossible for Palestinian women to take care of their reproductive health, which would reduce the Palestinian population in Gaza in the long term, which is one of the acts of genocide under the Rome Statute and the Genocide Convention.

According to the report, this action, together with the increase in the death of pregnant women due to limited access to medical resources, constitutes a crime against humanity - extermination.

The report accuses Israeli security forces of abuses as standard operating procedure to punish Palestinians following attacks carried out by Hamas in southern Israel in October 2023.

Israel has rejected the accusations.

"The IDF (Israeli Army) has specific guidelines and policies that unequivocally prohibit such behavior," the permanent mission of Israel to the UN announced, adding that their audit processes are in line with international standards.

Israel is a signatory to the Genocide Convention and, according to a January 2024 decision of the International Court of Justice, was ordered to take measures to prevent genocide during the war against Hamas, while, on the other hand, Israel is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, which gives the International Criminal Court jurisdiction to try individual cases of genocide and crimes against humanity.

South Africa filed a case against Israel for the genocide in Gaza before the International Court of Justice.
