It's official: Alimpijević is the new coach of Serbia!
Serbian coach Dušan Alimpijević is the new coach of Serbia, the Basketball Association of Serbia (KSS) confirmed.

Alimpijević agreed with the association for a three-year cooperation, and he will replace Svetislav Pešić in the position.
"During that period, Alimpijević will take over all responsibilities related to the preparations of the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers (FIBA 'windows'), as well as international competitions.
Alimpijević is recognized as a person who possesses the expertise, authority and dedication needed to lead the national team at the highest level, while bringing some new energy necessary to achieve results, which are always expected from the senior national team of Serbia.
The Basketball Federation of Serbia expresses full confidence in the professional work of Dusan Alimpijević and believes that, with the support of the fans, they will achieve the goals facing our national team with joint efforts.
KSS will inform the public in a timely manner about all further steps related to the formation of the professional staff and the preparation plan," the statement reads.
Alimpijević is the leader of a new generation of young Serbian coaches, who have already achieved excellent results and confirmed their quality on the European stage.
Despite the fact that he is a very young coach, Alimpijević already has enviable experience in competitions such as the Eurocup and Euroleague, including receiving the award for coach of the year in the Eurocup 2022.
He is currently the coach of Beşiktaş, a team that competes in the Eurocup, so the upcoming windows in the Mundobasket qualifiers will not be a problem for him, because then there will be no games in the second strongest competition in club basketball.
In his coaching career, he worked in FMP, Red Star, then he made great results in the Bursa team, which recommended him to Beşiktaş, where he is currently.
