"Djokovic is at Wimbledon to win it"
Former world number one Andy Roddick believes that Novak Djokovic has what it takes to win the 25th Grand Slam in his career.
Novak has reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, where he will play against Alex de Minaur on the Central Court from 2:30 p.m. for a place in the semifinals.
It is hard for the American to imagine that Djokovic will lose that match, and he points out that Novak's style of tennis at the age of 38 is best suited to grass.
"Novak is simply Novak. He is in this tournament to win it. I can't believe he won't be in the semi-finals. Everything he does well at this stage of his career works on grass. Novak hits the ball as well as ever, serves as well as ever," said Roddick and added:
"Look, this year, with two Grand Slam semifinals, is better than most of us had in our primes. But he would tell you, he's not as fast as he used to be. I said it during Roland Garros, I still think he can win this tournament. Will he? We'll see. But this version of Novak, who is no longer at the top of his game, translates better to grass at the moment."
