Is this the last heatwave before a major change in the weather?

In his detailed forecast, Marko Čubrilo says that a strong summer heatwave lies ahead.

“We are facing about two weeks of intense summer heat. After that, a more significant cooldown is possible. Yes, a strong summer heatwave is on the way. Over the next few days, maximum temperatures will initially range from 28°C to 34°C, and by early August from 31°C to 40°C. No, we are not going to burn up—heatwaves like this occur every summer, although they sometimes last much longer,” Marko Čubrilo said.

He also commented on the current wildfires, which are often linked to weather conditions:

“Nothing extraordinary or new is happening. The fires are the result of the actions of arsonists.”

Peak heat in early August, then a turnaround

According to Čubrilo's forecast, the coming days will bring dry and increasingly hot weather, with the peak of the heatwave expected around August 7.

However, immediately afterward, a dramatic change in the weather is on the horizon, according to his forecast.

“For now, it appears that a significant change in the weather is possible around August 8, when a stronger influx of moist and cooler air moving across the Alps toward our region could lead to the development of a secondary cyclone over the Adriatic. Along with a noticeable drop in temperatures, this could also bring severe weather and strong atmospheric instability,” Čubrilo forecasts.

However, Čubrilo does not specify what temperatures could be expected after the change.
