Severe weather closing in hour by hour; Urgent warning issued: These parts of Serbia will be hit first PHOTO
Serbia's State Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) has issued an urgent warning over severe thunderstorms expected to affect parts of the country. Heavy downpours accompanied by thunder, hail and strong to gale-force winds are forecast.
In the rest of the country, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with rain, brief showers and thunderstorms expected in places from around midday onward. Hail is also possible in isolated areas.
Winds will be light to moderate, while eastern Serbia is expected to experience moderate to strong westerly and northwesterly winds later in the day.
Daytime highs will range between 27°C and 33°C.
Forecast through the end of the week
From Tuesday through Friday, July 21–24, conditions will remain unsettled, with alternating sunny and cloudy periods.
Occasional showers and thunderstorms are expected, while more severe storms accompanied by hail and gale-force winds remain possible on Tuesday, particularly across southwestern and southern Serbia.
Temperatures will generally range from 24°C to 30°C, although southern and eastern Serbia will be warmer on Tuesday, with highs reaching up to 33°C.
From Saturday, July 25, weather conditions are expected to stabilize, with predominantly sunny skies and a gradual rise in temperatures across Serbia.
