Dean and three staff members from the Faculty of Philosophy summoned to police over student's death

According to Informer, in addition to Dean Danijel Sinani, the vice-dean for teaching, the vice-dean for finances, and the head of the technical service also arrived at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).

Today, following an order from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the police, as previously reported by Tanjug, sent summonses for questioning to Dean Sinani and some of the faculty staff regarding potential safety lapses at the faculty.

The MIA previously announced that last night, around 10:40 PM, after pyrotechnic devices were activated and ignited on the fifth floor of the faculty, the 25-year-old woman is suspected to have jumped through a window and died on the spot.

The Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has launched an investigation and instructed the MIA’s Anti-Corruption Department to collect the necessary information regarding the incident at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade on March 26.

The request was issued due to a reasonable suspicion of negligence on the part of the dean and other staff in connection with the safety of students and employees at the faculty, the prosecutor’s office announced.
