Fire breaks out again near Trebinje; Flames approach homes

The wind has reignited the fire in Zubci near Trebinje, as well as in the Ivanica area between Trebinje and Dubrovnik and in the Ramići local community near Banja Luka. The situation at the fire sites remains changeable due to the strong and shifting winds.

A fire line has been reactivated in Zubci near Trebinje, with one front moving toward the village of Uvjeća and another toward the villages of Kraj and Potkraj.

A helicopter operated by the Aviation Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has arrived in Trebinje and is expected to assist firefighters, as the terrain is extremely difficult and inaccessible. Local reports say the situation has been changing rapidly due to the wind.

Fire reactivated in Ivanica

The fire in Ivanica, between Trebinje and Dubrovnik, which broke out four days ago, has also become active again. After a relatively calm night, the wind reignited the blaze.

The fire has approached houses in the village of Bobovišta, coming to within around 100 metres. Residents and firefighting teams are currently in the village, according to RTRS. 

In the Ramići local community near Banja Luka, a fire remains active, with firefighters on the scene.

Miroslav Malinić, commander of the Banja Luka Fire and Rescue Brigade, said the fire was burning in inaccessible terrain, making firefighting operations difficult.

He stressed that the fire does not pose a threat to either people’s lives or property.

The fire broke out last night, and firefighters have spent the entire night at the scene.
