Serbia in the EU before 2030?
Italian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani estimated today that Serbia could become a member of the EU even before 2030, and that Italy will work on that.
"They were talking about 2030. I think it can be earlier, Italy will certainly work to make it earlier," said Tajani at a joint press conference with President Aleksandar Vučić, after the opening of the business forum and bilateral meeting, answering the question of when Serbia would could become member of the European family.
He also said that Italy wants to overcome all obstacles and for Serbia to be a full member of the European Union and its market.
Tajani emphasized that Belgrade and Serbia are a key factor for stability in the region and for the prosperity of Europe, and that his country wants Serbia to be accepted as soon as possible into the family of countries that make up the EU.
He also pointed out that Serbia is a safe country for investment and that it offers various benefits.
