Emergency Parliamentary Session on No-Confidence Vote against the Government underway
The ninth extraordinary session of National Assembly has begun, with the only item on the agenda being the debate on the proposal for a vote of no confidence in Government of Serbia. However, opposition lawmakers once again failed to appear in the Parliament.
However, at 10:10 a.m., at the start of the session, only 48 opposition lawmakers were present — out of the 62 signatories and 97 opposition MPs in total — which is fewer than half of all opposition representatives.
The quorum needed to begin the session was provided by 109 MPs from the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), meaning that SNS lawmakers effectively enabled the session to proceed, as the opposition was unable to collect the required 84 signatures to convene a parliamentary session.
The live proceedings of the parliamentary session on the no-confidence motion against the Government can be followed in the B92.net live blog.
