Vučić on elections: "I keep my word; they will be called in September or early October"

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić addressed the public after a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and, responding to a journalist’s question, emphasized that elections would be held by the end of 2026, as he had promised.

"I cannot do that on my own; I will do so after the Government informs the Assembly. It is to be expected that they will be held in October or November, which means they will be called in September or early October... I have already said that elections will be held by the end of 2026. I keep my word, and it is up to the people to express their will. We will certainly have parliamentary elections before the end of the year, and presidential elections somewhat later," Vučić said.
