General Nebojša Pavković laid to rest: A large number of citizens went to the Alley of Distinguished Citizens
Former commander of the Third Army of the Yugoslav Army and Chief of the General Staff, General Nebojša Pavković, was laid to rest today in the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at the New Cemetery.
The general was buried with the highest military honors, accompanied by a ceremonial gun salute and the Serbian Army Guard orchestra.
The funeral began with a service at the cemetery church, after which a large procession of citizens accompanied him to the Alley of Distinguished Citizens.
Members of General Pavković’s family, his wartime comrades, retired generals, and officers of the JNA, VJ, and Serbian Army attended the funeral, including Vladimir Lazarević, Ljubinko Djurković, Veselin Šljivančanin, Ljubiša Diković, and Dragan Živanović.

Also in attendance were Serbian government ministers Bratislav Gašić, Nikola Selaković, Milica Djurdjević Stamenkovski, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Milan Mojsilović, former government ministers Danica Grujičić and Aleksandar Vulin, as well as former Prime Minister of Serbia and Deputy Prime Minister of the FR Yugoslavia Nikola Šainović.
Numerous representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, veterans’ associations, the Ministry of Interior, political parties, and citizens paying their final respects to General Pavković were also present.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić sent his envoy, adviser Suzana Paunović.
General Nebojša Pavković passed away on Monday in Belgrade at the age of 79.
