Big military parade tomorrow in Belgrade - here's what will be displayed: MiG-29, "Eagle", PASARS... PHOTO

The parade, which is held on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, will start at 11:00 a.m. in the area in front of the Palace of Serbia.

Visitors to the parade, which is expected to be attended by the highest state officials, will have the opportunity to see the parade of echelons of units of all branches and services in the Serbian Armed Forces, cadets of the Military Academy, units on vehicles and vessels of the River Flotilla, and the parade program includes a display of the capabilities of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobra", an exercise by members of the Guard, as well as a parachute jump by members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.

What will be displayed?

As announced by the Ministry of Defense, all types of aircraft such as MiG-29, "Eagle", C-295 CASA, Mi-35M and H-145 will take part in the echelon of aviation units.

Among the numerous weapons and military equipment, the FK-3 and HQ-17 anti-aircraft missile systems, modern GM400 radars, Miloš, MRAP, Lazar 3, Hammer and BOV OT armored combat vehicles, modernized M-84 AS1/2/3 tanks, modernized M80 AB1/2 armored infantry fighting vehicles, 155 mm self-propelled howitzers will be displayed. NORA, as well as modernized PASARS anti-aircraft systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, reconnaissance and combat drones.

When it comes to echelon units, it consists of the War Flag Sub-Echelon, Guards, 72nd Special Operations Brigade, 63rd Parachute Brigade, Cobra Special Purpose Military Police Detachment, Army, Air Force and Air Defense units, Training Command, Liaison Brigade, 608th Logistics Base, Military Academy, and Army Veterans.

The echelon of units on vehicles is composed of the most modern assets equipped with the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as assets that are in the final stage of development.

It consists of sub-echelons of special units, reconnaissance units, infantry units, anti-armor units, military police units, telecommunications units, VOJIN units, artillery-missile units for PVD, electronic operations units, unmanned systems sub-echelons, artillery units, armored units, as well as sub-echelons of military equipment from development.

The echelon of aviation units consists of RViPVO assets of the Serbian Army and consists of sub-echelons of fighter, fighter-bomber, school and transport aviation, planes for aerial photography and sub-echelons of helicopter units. A special echelon will consist of naval units of the River Flotilla of the Serbian Army.

As the commander of the River Flotilla, battleship captain Darko Stričić, told Tanjug, the River Flotilla will present the most modern assets, modernized ships and its capabilities at the parade, stating that 20 vessels will participate.

As part of the program, members of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment "Cobra" will perform a demonstration of the security of a certain person at a public meeting. The program also includes an exercise by members of the Guard. Demonstration of the training of machine actions - the exercise is a unique and attractive military action performed by selected Guardsmen, that is, the most dexterous, agile and top-quality machine-built members.

At the "Power of Unity" military parade in Belgrade, the members of the drills perform the machines of the shop with two compositions from Splet of Serbian patriotic songs: "Oh, Serbia, motherland" and "There, Far Away".

The highest state officials invited citizens to attend the parade, stressing that they will be able to see how much the Serbian Army has changed in the past ten years, how modernized and strong it is.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, told Blic TV that the military parade is not organized because of daily political needs, but because of showing our strength as a deterrent to any potential aggressor, in order to preserve peace.

Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić stated earlier for K1 television that more than 10,000 soldiers are involved in the preparation and organization of the military parade, of which 6,000 are in infantry and motorized echelons, and the rest are logistical support.

He added that the military police are also fully engaged and that they will secure the entire route of movement of military convoys and echelons, and that all municipal services of the City of Belgrade, as well as the Ministry of Interior, participate in the preparation of the parade.

Citizens who want to attend the parade will be able to come to the parade area from 8:30 a.m., and entry will be possible at two locations, near the roundabout near the "Ušće" shopping center towards Branko's bridge and at the intersection of Trešnjin cvet street and Nikola Tesla Boulevard, from the direction of New Belgrade and the direction of Zemun.

It will not be possible to enter the parade observation area by means of transport. There will be checkpoints at the entrances to check visitors, and for the safety of citizens, it will not be allowed to bring in items that can cause harm to other people.

Also, access will not be granted to persons under the influence of alcohol or other opiates, as well as those who behave inappropriately or have signs of offensive and inappropriate content. Entry is free for adult citizens and minors accompanied by parents or guardians.

Pets are not allowed for security reasons. The general rehearsal of the "Power of Unity" military parade was held yesterday, and the exercise was attended by Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.

The Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag is commemorated in memory of the Serbian flag carried by Serbian soldiers during the breakthrough of the Salonica front on September 15, 1918 - the moment when our people, united in a common goal, won victory and went down in history as an example of courage and harmony.

The last parade of the Serbian Armed Forces, "Step of the Winner", was organized in 2014 in front of the Palace of Serbia, on the occasion of the liberation of the city of Belgrade in the Second World War, and was attended by about 4,500 participants, as well as more than 350 different combat vehicles.

The guest of honor of that parade was the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

The concept of a military parade was first defined more clearly by the Decree of King Milan Obrenović of March 14, 1884, which stipulates that public holidays and national holidays be celebrated with ceremonies throughout the country, in the areas where the army is stationed.

This act established the future presentation of military formations during state and religious holidays in the Kingdom of Serbia and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

In the SFRY, military parades were held for important holidays, both in Belgrade and in the capitals of other republics. The two biggest parades in this sense were held in 1975 and 1985, on May 9, the Day of Victory over Fascism.
