Strong police forces, senior officers from the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP), and the duty prosecutor overseeing the investigation are currently at the scene, according to media reports.

Police have blocked access to the location where the barrel was found, while forensic experts are collecting evidence to determine all the circumstances of the case.

By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the body will be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Belgrade for an autopsy and DNA analysis, the prosecution said in a statement.

Aleksandar Nešović disappeared on May 12 in Belgrade. It is suspected that he was killed in a restaurant in the Senjak neighborhood, and authorities have been searching for his body ever since.
