Higher Public Prosecutor's Office received report on the case of female student from the Faculty of Philosophy

Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has received autopsy report regarding the death of 25-year-old M.Ž., which showed that death was caused by injuries from a fall, while toxicological analyses did not detect the presence of psychoactive substances.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has today received the autopsy report, including toxicological analysis, from the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, regarding the death of 25-year-old M.Ž. on March 26, 2026.

“In the interest of the public, we announce that the findings indicate the death was caused by injuries resulting from a fall from height, while toxicological analyses did not detect the presence of medications or other psychoactive substances.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade continues the preliminary investigation into the death of M.Ž. and the circumstances under which pyrotechnic devices were ignited on the fifth floor of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, on March 26 at around 10:40 p.m., as well as to determine whether there were any failures by responsible parties regarding the safety of students and staff at the faculty,” the statement said.
