According to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić said that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the Spanish, Colombian, and Slovenian police.

He stated that the arrests, supported by Europol, took place in Spain, where 17 members of a criminal network were detained, eight of whom are Serbian citizens.

During the operation, 1.1 tons of cocaine were seized, along with a large quantity of weapons and cash.

“In Spain, Serbian citizens B. B. (1963), B. I. (1976), M. B. (1999), M. N. (1997), S. S. (1987), R. M. (2004), D. P. (1993), and N. T. (1992) were arrested. They are suspected of being members of a criminal group that provided logistics and equipment to receive cocaine transported from Colombia by ship to Spain, which was then stored and, in coordination with several Spanish criminal groups, further distributed,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains a reliable partner in the fight against all forms of transnational crime, particularly in combating drug trafficking and identifying members of criminal groups for further prosecution,” said Minister Dačić.
